I was so excited when I picked up the new Nora Roberts book that I started reading when I got home. Ironically, I was slightly disappointed. Don't get me wrong, there were some good things about the book but overall I felt it was lacking.

After Monica (co-owner) finished reading the book we had a discussion so that we could write the blog. I was surprised when her assessment of the book was the same as mine.

We agreed that there was some character development, but overall we felt that the characters were superficial. We are used to seeing more in-depth character development from Nora Roberts. The back story was glossed over, we had this unnamed evil running around with unknown powers, and the powers of the three male characters was never fully explained. When we finished the book we were left with a lot of questions. 

Overall the first book was slightly disappointing, but Nora Roberts is a great writer and I am eagerly awaiting the second book in the Trilogy.

If you haven't had a chance to read the first book then make sure to pick up your copy. The first book will provide you with background information that you will need for the second book.
